SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 98
In Memory
of
James Coons
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the 
citizens of Conroe in mourning the tragic loss of United States 
Army Master Sergeant James Coons, who died July 4, 2003, in 
Washington, D.C., at the age of 35; and
	WHEREAS, Jimmy Coons was born on April 3, 1968, in
Winnie, Texas, to Richard and Carol Coons; he shared a loving 
marriage with Robin Coons, and they were blessed with two 
daughters; and
	WHEREAS, Sergeant Coons bravely served his nation in 
Operation Iraqi Freedom as a director of Information Management; 
he was highly regarded for his knowledge of computers and the 
Internet; his colleagues could always count on him to be 
responsible and dependable, and he had their deepest admiration 
and respect; and
	WHEREAS, For his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom, he was 
awarded the Bronze Star Medal and an additional service medal of 
merit; and
	WHEREAS, Known for his integrity and strength of character, 
Jimmy Coons will be remembered by his colleagues as a man who 
always made a positive difference; and
	WHEREAS, Jimmy Coons was a devoted husband and father, and 
he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his 
family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere 
condolences to the bereaved family of Master Sergeant James Coons:
his wife, Robin; his daughters, Misaki Stacey and Chloe Brielle; 
his parents, Richard and Carol Coons; and other beloved family 
members; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy 
from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this 
day, it do so in memory of Master Sergeant James Coons.
