SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 102
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
pay tribute to Ora Necessary Bartlett on the grand occasion of
her 100th birthday, on August 20, 2003; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished lady is well known for her
charm and generosity of spirit, and she is a revered resident
of Coryell County; and
WHEREAS, She was born on August 20, 1903, in
Taylorsville, Texas, and moved with her family to Coryell County
when she was seven years old; she married Claud Bartlett on
June 7, 1928; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bartlett has three children, Jeanette Cox,
Kenneth Bartlett, and Ladell Kielmann, and 10 grandchildren and
15 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bartlett is an active member of Cedar Ridge
Church of Christ, and her strong faith in God is a tremendous
source of strength to her; and
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community,
Ora Bartlett is noted for her courage, her compassion for others,
and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize
Mrs. Ora Necessary Bartlett as a treasured citizen of Coryell County
and our state and extend to her best wishes on her 100th birthday;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a memento of this special day.
