SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 107
In Memory
of
Margaret L. Moreno
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Margaret L. Moreno,
who died July 18, 2003, at the age of 86; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Moreno was a foster grandparent at Austin
Children's Hospital for over seven years and a counselor at
Teenage Parenthood; she was a certified home health care aide
and was retired from her position as a counselor with the Texas
Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation; and
WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity,
she gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom,
warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who
knew her; and
WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Moreno was a member of
Cristo Rey Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Moreno lived her life to the fullest and
was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she leaves behind
memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many
friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
condolences to the bereaved family of Margaret L. Moreno:
her daughters and sons-in-law, Tommie Lopez and Johnny,
Margaret "Linda" Alvarado and Lupe, and Rachel Moreno and Jim;
her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Moreno and Terry,
Richard Moreno and Lucy, and Roland Moreno; her sisters,
Connie Arredondo and Angelina Arzola; and her 32 grandchildren,
64 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Margaret L. Moreno.
