SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 113
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Stan and Ann Cerny on the special occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Stan and Ann Cerny made a lifetime commitment to each other when they married on July 27, 1953, and their mutual trust has been amply rewarded; and WHEREAS, They were both born in Praha, Texas, to parents of Czech descent; after they married, they moved to Houston, where they lived until moving to Katy in 2000; and WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Cerny have cherished traditional family and moral values; and WHEREAS, Stan worked full-time at Folgers Coffee Company, and for eight years, he attended night classes at the University of Houston to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration; Ann was a stay-at-home mom; and WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and WHEREAS, Ann and Stan are beloved and respected by their children, Sharon Cerny Crowe, and her husband, David, and Gary Cerny, and his wife, Robin, and by their grandchildren, Julie Crowe Perry, and her husband, Jack, and Colton Cerny; and WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Stan and Ann Cerny is truly an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Stan Cerny on their golden wedding anniversary; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
