The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission or relevant Medicaid operating agency to provide licensed psychologist or licensed marriage and family therapist services to certain Medicaid recipients. The bill would reinstate the law previous to House Bill 2292, 78th Legislature.
The Health and Human Services Commission estimated that the provision of these services would cost approximately $4.8 million in All Funds per year ($4.7 million for psychologist services and $100,000 for marriage and family therapist services). It is estimated that General Revenue (Match for Medicaid) would account for approximately 40 percent of expenditures, with Federal Funds comprising the remaining 60 percent.
