R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Eddie Holland of Kerr County from the Texas Cooperative Extension brings to a close the career of a distinguished public servant; and WHEREAS, A native of Llano, Mr. Holland received his bachelor's degree and master's degree in education and animal science, respectively, from Texas Tech University; he is married to Peggy Holland, a kindergarten teacher, and they have one daughter, Kimberly; and WHEREAS, For 30 years, Mr. Holland has been employed by the Texas Cooperative Extension, serving admirably for the past 21 years as the Kerr County extension agent; in addition, Mr. Holland made significant contributions to his profession during his tenure as president of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents; and WHEREAS, Mr. Holland's hobbies include hunting, raising Boer goats, and judging livestock shows; notably, he has judged four different livestock species at state fairs and major livestock shows across the United States, Canada, and Australia; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Kerr County has reaped the benefits of Mr. Holland's leadership and commitment; he is a role model who has made a positive and lasting difference in his community, and it is indeed fitting that we recognize him as he begins a new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to Eddie Holland for his exemplary service as Kerr County extension agent and extend to him best wishes for happiness and good fortune in the years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Holland as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
