R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on June 21, 2003, Marvis and Castine Moseley of
Marshall commemorated this joyous occasion in their marriage; and
WHEREAS, This loving couple were wed in 1953 in San
Francisco, and since that time their family has grown to include
their children, Ronald, Edward, Sheila, Marvis, Michael, and Rita,
as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, A retired truck driver, Mr. Moseley worked for East
Texas Motor Freight Lines and A. B. F. Freight Systems during his
32-year career; Mrs. Moseley was employed with Sterling Electronics
and Houston Community College as a simulator and in-car driver
education instructor; and
WHEREAS, The couple lived in Houston for 32 years before
moving to Marshall in 1986; they are charter members of New Growth
Baptist Church in Waskom, and they have worshiped there for the past
12 years; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Moseley commemorated their anniversary
by renewing their vows in the church's Robinson Fellowship Hall;
during the reception that followed, the couple reminisced with
family and friends, many of whom traveled from great distances,
including Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, Georgia, and Minnesota,
to join in the celebration; and
WHEREAS, For five decades, the Moseleys have enjoyed a
relationship built on trust, understanding, and mutual respect;
they have demonstrated a deep commitment to one another, to their
family, and to the institution of marriage, and the love they share
remains an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Marvis and
Castine Moseley on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to
them warmest best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Moseley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
