R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Weslaco Chamber of Commerce was accorded a 
well-deserved honor when the Texas Business Association presented 
it with the Best New Program Award on June 24, 2003; and
	WHEREAS, Awarded to only two chambers of commerce in the Lone 
Star State this year, the prestigious accolade recognizes worthy 
promotional programs that positively affect local economies; and
	WHEREAS, The outstanding program developed by the Weslaco 
Chamber of Commerce promotes the area's burgeoning eco-tourism 
industry, and the successful campaign has helped to bring vital 
revenue into the city; and
	WHEREAS, With innovative ideas that have stimulated the local 
economy, the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce has proven itself worthy 
of this award, and its many members can take great pride in the 
chamber's vitality and accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Weslaco 
Chamber of Commerce on receiving the Best New Program Award from the 
Texas Business Association and extend to all those involved with 
this exemplary organization sincere best wishes for continued 
success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce as an expression of 
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
