H.R. No. 43
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The State of Texas honors the life of Dale Elizabeth
Willis, a Fort Worth native and the daughter of former Texas State
Senator Doyle Willis and Evelyn McDavid Willis, who passed away on
July 14, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Willis was born on November 3, 1951, in Fort
Worth, where she attended public schools before enrolling at Gulf
Park Junior College in Mississippi; she graduated from The
University of Texas Southwestern Medical School with a bachelor of
science degree in nursing home management and became a licensed
vocational nurse; and
WHEREAS, Also a Lone Star State public servant, Ms. Willis
made significant contributions to the lives of her fellow Texans
while working at the General Land Office and the comptroller's
office; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Willis was a valued member of her community and
devoted congregant of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth;
although her untimely departure from this world has left her family
and friends profoundly saddened, her spirit will continue to live
in their hearts, where her memory is cherished; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Dale Elizabeth Willis and extend deep sympathy to the members of her
family: to her father, the Honorable Doyle Willis, Sr.; to her
mother, Evelyn McDavid Willis; to her brothers, Doyle Willis, Jr.,
and his wife, Libby, and Dr. Dan A. Willis; to her sister, Dina E.
Willis; to her nieces and nephews; and to her other relatives and
many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dale
Elizabeth Willis.
