H.R. No. 49 



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans 
who have shared 60 happy and rewarding years of marriage is indeed a 
special occasion; and
	WHEREAS, Oral and Dorothy Bowman of Mineola recently 
commemorated this event in their lives with a family dinner 
celebrating their six decades of mutual affection and devotion; and
	WHEREAS, United in marriage on July 12, 1943, at the home of 
the groom's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bowman have 
seen their relationship grow in love and respect with each passing 
year; and
	WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II and Pearl Harbor survivor, 
Mr. Bowman devoted over 40 years to pastoring churches throughout 
the Lone Star State, while Mrs. Bowman dedicated her time and energy 
to maintaining a loving environment for their family; and
	WHEREAS, The Bowmans are blessed with two daughters, Debbie 
and Joyce, both of whom have benefited immeasurably from their 
parents' unfailing love and guidance, and the couple have happily 
welcomed a son-in-law, Johnny, and four grandchildren, Shanna, 
John, Adam, and Eric, to the family fold; and
	WHEREAS, For 60 years, Mr. and Mrs. Bowman have shared a union 
filled with many wonderful times and joyful family memories, and 
their relationship remains a source of inspiration to the family 
and many friends of this fortunate pair; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Oral and 
Dorothy Bowman on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Bowmans as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
