H.R. No. 58 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In times of combat, soldiers like U.S. Army Private Alan Babin come to the fore and inspire us with their acts of heroism and personal fortitude; and WHEREAS, Private Babin has demonstrated exemplary courage and loyalty through his outstanding service in our nation's armed forces; in an act of altruistic bravery, this dedicated medic of the 82nd Airborne put his own life in jeopardy coming to the aid of a wounded soldier; and WHEREAS, Critically wounded by enemy fire, Private Babin is currently recovering from his injuries and has been justly awarded the Bronze Star with valor and the Purple Heart; through his unhesitating selflessness and his unfaltering devotion to duty, honor, and his country, U.S. Army Private Alan Babin embodies the highest ideals of the armed service; and WHEREAS, Americans owe an immeasurable debt to this brave soldier and all our military personnel who have loyally served throughout this country's history and whose efforts and sacrifice in this nation's behalf are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest gratitude; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor U.S. Army Private Alan Babin for heroic bravery displayed during Operation Iraqi Freedom and extend to him sincere gratitude for his efforts and best wishes for a speedy recovery; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Private Babin as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
