R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
congratulate Ken Telg on being named 2002 Wichitan of the Year by
the Wichita Falls Board of Commerce and Industry; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Telg was honored for his outstanding leadership
abilities and admirable commitment to the individuals in his
community; he received this prestigious award at the Ninth Annual
North Texas Economic Forum held at the Wichita Falls Country Club;
and
WHEREAS, Moving to the Wichita Falls area with his wife and
four children in 1998, Mr. Telg became the community banking
president of Wells Fargo, bringing to the position 30 years of
experience and an emphasis on customer service; he has provided a
personable banking experience to the customers of this bank and has
served as a role model for other corporate executives; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Telg's charitable efforts include service as
chairman of the United Way board in 2002, when the organization
surpassed the previous year's donations by more than $80,000; he
also has donated his time and energy as a board member for the Boys
and Girls Club and the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation and
as a member of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Scholarship
Committee; his local involvement extends further to include his
positions as trustee of the Priddy Foundation and vice chairman of
the Board of Commerce and Industry; and
WHEREAS, In just a few short years, Mr. Telg has made a
profound impact on the quality of life in Wichita Falls, and it is
appropriate to take this opportunity to recognize his impressive
achievements and contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Ken Telg for
receiving the 2002 Wichitan of the Year Award and extend to him best
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Telg as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
