R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Francisco Lumbreras has dedicated many years of
service to the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District
(CISD) and has made innumerable contributions to the youth of his
community; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated scholar, Mr. Lumbreras graduated from
Edinburg High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree,
master's degree, and further postgraduate certification at Pan
American University; and
WHEREAS, He taught for several years in the
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo school district before departing in 1979 to
begin his tenure with the Edinburg CISD; he has since served the
district as teacher, elementary assistant principal, elementary
principal, and secondary assistant principal and currently holds
the post of transportation coordinator; over the years, he earned
the respect and admiration of parents, students, and teachers alike
for his natural leadership ability and tireless dedication; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his significant role with the
district, Francisco Lumbreras has distinguished himself as
president of the Travis Elementary School Parent Teacher
Association, district president of the Texas State Teachers
Association, and chairman of the City Development Block Grant
committee; this esteemed gentleman has devoted two decades of his
life to educating our next generation of leaders and has
demonstrated an unfailing commitment to the betterment of education
in his South Texas community; and
WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly recognized Mr.
Lumbreras by authoring this resolution in his behalf during the 2nd
Called Session of the 78th Legislature; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Francisco Lumbreras
for his many contributions to the Edinburg Consolidated Independent
School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Lumbreras as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
