R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Milton "Milt" Covert and Rose Covert of Greenville
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in a memorable way in
June 2003 with a renewal of their vows and a reception for family
and friends held at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Judy
and Steven Darocy; and
WHEREAS, United in matrimony on June 27, 1953, in Dixon,
Illinois, Mr. and Mrs. Covert have nurtured a strong bond of love,
and their lives have been blessed with a loving family, which
includes their children and their spouses, Sandra and Tom Clark,
Linda and Craig Roberson, Sue Turk, Judy and Steven Darocy, Cindy
and Steven Liechty, and Tammy and Fashi Hashemian; in addition,
they are the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Covert is a retired regional sales manager for
Peddinghaus Corporation in Illinois, while Mrs. Covert has been a
caring and supportive homemaker over the course of their marriage;
together they have been active members of First Family Church in
Dallas since 1982; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, the Coverts have shared an
enduring union, filling each other's lives with many happy times
and cherished family memories, and it is a privilege to honor them
for all they have accomplished through the years; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Milton "Milt"
Covert and Rose Covert on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend
to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Covert as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
