R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for celebration, and on August 3, 2003, Don and Peggy Ditto of Winnsboro marked this memorable event with a party at their home; and WHEREAS, The couple met at church in Dallas and were united in matrimony on August 3, 1953, at the Oak Cliff Assembly of God Church in Dallas; Mr. Ditto and the former Peggy Dell Clemmons enjoy a warm and fulfilling relationship that stands as an inspiring model of mutual love and respect for their loved ones; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ditto have been richly blessed with a family that includes six sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Tyria Ditto, Preston and Stefanie Ditto, James and Nanette Ditto, Jason and Paulette Ditto, Clint and Vicki Ditto, and Don Ditto, Jr., and his wife, Karla; and 10 grandchildren, Shelly, Stacy, Joshua, Jeremy, Mitchell, Sean, Farrah, Russell, Will, and Jaxon; and WHEREAS, In 1973, Mr. and Mrs. Ditto founded Kendon, Inc., a manufacturing company that produces wood, metal, and candle products, and they worked diligently together to make it a success; they changed the name to Ditto Group, Inc., in recent years and retired in 2001 after passing on the company to their children; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Ditto served on the board of directors of the Winnsboro National Bank for several years, while Mr. Ditto was appointed to the board of regents for Ambassador College in Big Sandy; today, they continue to remain active in a number of church and civic endeavors in their community; and WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have shared the trials and triumphs of half a century, and it is truly a pleasure to join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Don and Peggy Ditto on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ditto as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
