H.R. No. 109


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On August 16, 2003, Catherine Ferguson will celebrate her 80th birthday with her family and many friends, and this event promises to be a truly happy and memorable occasion; and WHEREAS, The youngest of 10 children, Ms. Ferguson was born into a large and loving family on August 21, 1923; she never lacked for playmates as a child, sharing a close bond with her siblings, Carrie, Georgia, Pearline, Annie Lee, Rosie Lee, Littie, Carye, James, and Richard; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Ms. Ferguson has contributed her time and talents to a small catering business that produces mouth-watering holiday meals, and she also enjoys tempting the tastebuds of family and friends with such tantalizing fare as her signature potato salad and peach cobbler; and WHEREAS, The mother of State Representative Helen Giddings, this beloved woman has been a source of immense joy and strength to those around her over the course of her full and generous life, and her birthday presents a fitting opportunity to remind her of the high regard in which she is held; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Catherine Ferguson on the momentous occasion of her 80th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Ferguson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
