R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Four student athletes from the Katy Independent 
School District have distinguished themselves among their peers by 
earning gold medals in the 2003 UIL State Track Meet; and
	WHEREAS, Nichole Brown of Mayde Creek High School earned top 
honors with a high jump of 5 feet, 9 inches; Dallas Griffin of 
Taylor High School bested fellow shot-putters with a throw of 60 
feet, 10 1/4 inches; Kyle Miller of Cinco Ranch High School won the 
3200-meter run with a time of 9:10.96; and Scott Sellers of Cinco 
Ranch High School crossed the bar at 7 feet to capture first place 
in the high jump; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to their individual accomplishments, 
all of these worthy competitors made a vital contribution to the 
success of their teams, and they are most deserving of special 
recognition for their outstanding performances in the 2003 UIL 
State Track Meet; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Nichole Brown, Dallas 
Griffin, Kyle Miller, and Scott Sellers of the Katy Independent 
School District for their athletic achievements at the 2003 UIL 
State Track Meet and extend to them best wishes for continued 
success in all their future endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for these fine student athletes as an expression of high 
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
