H.R. No. 118


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Three high school wrestlers from the Katy Independent School District have distinguished themselves among their peers by earning gold medals in the 2003 UIL Boys' State Wrestling Championship; and WHEREAS, James Aston of Katy High School dominated the 171 lb. weight class, winning the championship 6-4 in overtime; Patrick Huff of Taylor High School excelled in the 112 lb. weight class, pinning one opponent and scoring a 7-1 victory in the championship match; Matt Tiffin of Cinco Ranch High School captured first place in the 180 lb. weight class with a solid overall performance and a 7-5 win in the final; and WHEREAS, Each of these dedicated young men has represented his school and his team in exemplary fashion, demonstrating good sportsmanship and team spirit throughout the competition, and their accomplishments are a source of great pride to their schools; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate James Aston, Patrick Huff, and Matt Tiffin on their achievements at the 2003 UIL State Wrestling Championship and extend to them best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for these fine student athletes as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
