R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lonny Traweek is retiring as district engineer in the Bryan District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) after more than 30 years of noteworthy service to the state; and WHEREAS, Mr. Traweek earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 1970 and soon after began his career with TxDOT; starting out as an engineering assistant in the Dallas District, he was later named Dallas Northside area engineer and ably oversaw eight miles of reconstruction of the North Central Expressway; and WHEREAS, In 1992, this notable gentleman became district engineer for Bryan District, which includes 10 Central Texas counties; during his accomplished tenure, he has played an integral role in restoring the area farm-to-market roadway system and supervised the design and completion of numerous major construction projects; and WHEREAS, Mr. Traweek's dedication and expertise have set an outstanding example for all those who have had the pleasure of knowing and working with him, and his presence at the Texas Department of Transportation will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Lonny G. Traweek for his many years of invaluable service to the State of Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Traweek as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
