R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Carver Elementary School principal Kathy Weis
received a great honor when the Greenville Independent School
District bestowed on her the prestigious Key Communicator Award at
the 2003 annual Back-to-School Convocation; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1982, the Key Communicator Award is
presented yearly to those who consistently represent the district
in a positive light; over the years, 87 individuals have been
selected to receive the accolade, which is Greenville ISD's highest
recognition; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Weis was chosen for her effective leadership of
Carver Elementary School and for putting the interests of children
first; her attentiveness to her students is evidenced by the fact
that she knows the name of each child and the child's reading level
and address; moreover, she has been able to read a student's essay
and some weeks later recall it clearly enough to be able to refer
back to particular sections; and
WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering commitment to
fostering her students' engagement in learning, Ms. Weis has made
an indelible impression on the youth at her school, and her
accomplishments truly deserve special legislative recognition;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kathy Weis on
her receipt of the Key Communicator Award from the Greenville
Independent School District and extend to her best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Weis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
