R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is a special event in the lives of two people, and John Tennis Waggoner and Dolores Mary Cross Waggoner are celebrating this momentous occasion on September 18, 2003; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Waggoner were united in matrimony by the Reverend L. F. Minnis on September 18, 1953, at the First Baptist Church of Rylie; over the years, their special union has been blessed with three children, Guy A. Waggoner, Carolyn Diane Phillips, and Kyle G. Waggoner; they have also proudly watched their family grow to include six grandchildren, Miranda Tucker, Lacy Waggoner, Joseph Phillips, Jacob Waggoner, Philip Waggoner, and Henry Waggoner, as well as one great-grandchild, Hannah Tucker; and WHEREAS, A master electrician, Mr. Waggoner retired as a 45-year member of Local Union 20 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Mrs. Waggoner has been a supportive homemaker throughout their marriage, providing a warm and loving home to her family; since 1963, the couple have lived on the family farm, located near Wood County Road 2325, which was originally purchased by Mr. Waggoner's great-grandmother, Mary Boozer, in 1900 and 1903; and WHEREAS, For half a century, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong bond of love, filling each other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, and this milestone in their lives is an inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate John and Dolores Waggoner on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Waggoner as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
