R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Clarence L. Hardeman of Austin is retiring as postmaster of the Texas House of Representatives Post Office, bringing to a close a distinguished 34-year career; and WHEREAS, Since joining the House Post Office on January 2, 1969, this Smithville native has consistently demonstrated his ability to keep pace with the diverse needs of this fast-paced legislative environment as well as today's changing technology, and he earned a well-deserved promotion in 1991 to House postmaster; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hardeman is a longtime member of the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he has served in numerous leadership positions; he is also active in many civic organizations in Austin; and WHEREAS, A student of history and the Western frontier, Mr. Hardeman is a member of the Buffalo Soldiers Organization and looks forward to raising cattle and horses in Bastrop County in retirement and enjoying the country life he loves so much; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Clarence L. Hardeman on the special occasion of his retirement from the post office of the Texas House of Representatives and extend to him best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hardeman as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
