R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Erwin Anton Goebel were
deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed gentleman on August
4, 2003, at the age of 77; and
WHEREAS, Born on March 1, 1926, in Cypress Mill, Mr. Goebel
served his country with distinction as a member of the U.S. Navy; he
later made his home in Johnson City, where he leaves behind many
cherished family members and friends; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Goebel was a devoted husband and family man who
positively influenced the lives of all those who were fortunate
enough to have known him, and his memory will not soon be forgotten;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Erwin Anton Goebel and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
family: to his wife, Opal Goebel; to his two daughters, Joan
Marasek and Carol Summy; to his brother, Clarence Goebel; to his
four grandchildren, Tara Calzoncit, Brandon Eller, Shauna Eller,
and Kendra Summy; to his great-grandchild, Katlinn Calzoncit; and
to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Erwin Anton
Goebel.
