R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, This chamber takes great pleasure in honoring the 
creation of the Hispanic Sport Reporters Association of the 
Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the Asociación de Cronistas 
Deportivos Hispanos; and
	WHEREAS, To be established on September 2, 2003, by Luis Lara 
and Otto Gonzalez, the Hispanic Sport Reporters Association will 
highlight the achievements of Hispanics employed in the field of 
sports journalism  for their work in the Metroplex; and
	WHEREAS, To that end, the organization will annually name a 
Hispanic Sport Reporter of the Year as well as the best Hispanic 
sport reporters media outlets in categories including radio, 
newspaper, and television; moreover, the association will offer a 
sports journalism scholarship to a high school student in the 
Dallas/Fort Worth area; and
	WHEREAS, Promising to be a valuable resource for promoting 
excellence in journalism within the Metroplex, the Hispanic Sport 
Reporters Association is indeed a noteworthy endeavor deserving of 
legislative commendation; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize the Hispanic 
Sport Reporters of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the Asociación 
de Cronistas Deportivos Hispanos, on the occasion of its 
establishment and extend to its founders, charter members, and 
supporters in the community best wishes for future success; and, be 
it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
