H.R. No. 183
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Melba Kelly as deputy probate
clerk in the Wood County clerk's office on July 31, 2003, concluded
almost two decades of exemplary service to the citizens of Wood
County; and
WHEREAS, Hired by former county clerk Martha Bridges on
November 11, 1983, Mrs. Kelly was promoted in 1993 to her position
of deputy III, serving under county clerk Brenda Taylor; Mrs. Kelly
consistently provided exceptional service while upholding the
highest standards of professionalism, and she earned the abiding
respect and admiration of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, Supported in her endeavors by her husband, Carol
Kelly, she has been able to share this special time in her life with
her children and their spouses, David and Jennifer Kindle, Keith
and Lori Kindle, and Darren Kindle, as well as with her
grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Madison, and Mason; and
WHEREAS, Having served Wood County with integrity and
dedication, Mrs. Kelly is most deserving of special recognition for
her exemplary 19-year-and-9-months career and of best wishes for
happiness as she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her life;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Melba Kelly on the
occasion of her retirement from the Wood County clerk's office;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Kelly as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
