R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Canon Burris Farris II has made significant 
contributions to the lives of many as a trustee and executive board 
member for the Highland Hills Neighborhood Association, an 
organization with which he has been affiliated for nine years; and
	WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio and lifelong resident of 
Highland Hills, Mr. Farris is currently in charge of code 
compliance and is working with Councilman Ron Segovia to address 
violations in the neighborhood; and
	WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan devoted 33 years to serving his 
country as a member of the U.S. Navy and also lent his considerable 
talents to his position as an electronic foreman at Kelly Air Force 
Base; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to spending time with his family, Mr. 
Farris enjoys restoring antiques and doing home repairs, including 
such extensive projects as adding several rooms to his residence; 
and
	WHEREAS, Canon Farris is truly an asset to his community, and 
it is appropriate that he receive special recognition at this time; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Canon Burris Farris 
II on his exceptional service to his community and extend to him 
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Farris as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
