LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATURE 2nd CALLED SESSION - 2003

August 14, 2003

TO:
Honorable David Swinford, Chair, House Committee on Government Reform

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB19 by Swinford (Relating to certain government contracts to be performed in nonattainment areas for national ambient air quality standards.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill more explicitly defines where certain government air quality standard contracts are to be performed.  Further, the bill exempts 1997 or newer diesel powered motor homes over 14,000 pounds for personal use from the new motor vehicle sales tax surcharge.  The fiscal impact of this exemption is insignificant.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
