CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
	WHEREAS, Fort Worth is hosting its first Convoy of Hope 
outreach event, and it is fitting that this special occasion be 
commemorated by recognizing October 25, 2003, as Convoy of Hope 
Day; and
	WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope is a nonprofit organization that 
partners with local organizations and churches across racial, 
denominational, and socioeconomic lines in order to unite 
communities and provide a platform for touching lives; and
	WHEREAS, The outreach event will distribute food and provide 
health and beauty services, education, activities for children, and 
live entertainment in an effort to introduce individuals in need to 
organizations that can provide long-term support, valuable 
resources, and encouragement through Christian ministry in a 
festive atmosphere; and
	WHEREAS, The Convoy of Hope outreach in Fort Worth, which 
will assist thousands of area individuals, is a noble effort that 
truly deserves legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called 
Session, hereby recognize October 25, 2003, as Convoy of Hope Day 
and extend to all those participating in this important occasion 
sincere best wishes for a successful and memorable day; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Convoy of Hope as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas Legislature.
