R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Vicki Lynn Mitchell of Lorena were deeply saddened by her untimely passing on August 11, 2003, at the age of 45; and WHEREAS, Born on June 12, 1958, in Albany, Georgia, Mrs. Mitchell graduated from Prattville High School in Alabama and earned her college degree at Baylor University; she taught elementary school until she started a family with her husband, Steve Mitchell, whom she married on September 2, 1978; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Mitchell was a devoted member of First Baptist Church; she was active in teaching children's Sunday school, Acteens, and Bible Study Fellowship, and with the help of friends, she established a local King's Club backyard Bible study for children; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Mitchell was a caring and supportive wife and mother, and the blessing of her life will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to share her love and friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Vicki Lynn Mitchell and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Steve; to her children, Lee, Jake, and Mika Ellen Mitchell; to her parents, Joe and Carolyn Rodgers; to her sister and her husband, Sandra and Jonathan Belek; to her brothers and their wives, Bill and June Rodgers and John and Angie Rodgers; to her parents-in-law, Charles and Mary Lou Mitchell; to her uncle and aunt, Marvin and Mary Emma Glass; to her 14 nieces and nephews; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vicki Lynn Mitchell.
