R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In celebration of their golden wedding anniversary, 
Pat and Juanita Swihart of Midland were the guests of honor at a 
surprise luncheon held at the Cattle Baron restaurant that was 
hosted by their family; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Swihart and the former Juanita Murray pledged 
their lives to each other in a ceremony held on August 29, 1953, in 
Corpus Christi; and
	WHEREAS, The Swiharts have since been blessed with a large 
and close-knit family of six children, including their sons, 
Stephen, Mike, and James Swihart, their daughters, Sharon Swihart, 
Linda Parish, and the late Patricia Johnson, nine grandchildren, 
and five great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, After living in Corpus Christi and Houston, the 
Swiharts moved to Midland in 1964, where they are valued members of 
Golf Course Road Church of Christ; and
	WHEREAS, This devoted couple have shared the challenges and 
triumphs of half a century together, and it is a privilege to join 
in honoring them on their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Pat and 
Juanita Swihart on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 
anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Swihart as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
