H.R. No. 16 


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Aurelio "Rudy" Rivas as unit supervisor of the Amarillo District Parole Office brings to a close an exemplary career with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice that has spanned more than a quarter century; and WHEREAS, This esteemed public servant attended West Texas State University in Canyon, graduating with a master's degree in psychology; Mr. Rivas began his tenure with the department on October 24, 1977, and has had a positive influence on the lives of countless people over the course of his long and distinguished career; and WHEREAS, A devoted family man as well, Mr. Rivas and his wife, Le, take great pride in their family of three children, Crystal, Alex, and Misty, and their two grandchildren, Calvin and Maddie; and WHEREAS, His local endeavors have included membership in the Randall County Republican Party and participation in the Kiwanis Club; in retirement Mr. Rivas looks forward to having more time for fishing, ice fishing, and visiting the mountains; and WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Rudy Rivas has adhered to the highest standards of professionalism, and he has earned the lasting respect of all those who know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Aurelio "Rudy" Rivas on his retirement from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and commend him for his steadfast dedication to the citizens of the Lone Star State; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Rivas as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
