R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans who have shared 60 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a notable occasion; and WHEREAS, Homer and Dorothy Nance of Midland commemorated this memorable event in their lives on June 14, 2003, with a family dinner at Wall Street Bar and Grill; and WHEREAS, United in marriage on June 14, 1943, Mr. Nance and the former Dorothy Caswell have seen their relationship grow in love and respect with each passing year; and WHEREAS, Mr. Nance was a valued employee at White's Automotive for 16 years and also spent 22 years at Sears as a salesman, while Mrs. Nance has devoted her time and energy to creating a loving home environment for her family; and WHEREAS, The Nances are blessed with two children, Peggy Hall and Jim Paul Nance, both of whom benefited immeasurably from their parents' unfailing love and guidance, and the couple have happily welcomed two beloved grandchildren to the family fold; and WHEREAS, For 60 years, Mr. and Mrs. Nance have shared a union filled with many wonderful times and joyful family memories, and their relationship remains a source of inspiration to their family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Homer and Dorothy Nance on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Nance as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
