H.R. No. 20
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, R. E. and Jeanette McDonald of Midland attained a
notable milestone in their marriage on July 31, 2003, with the
celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McDonald and the former Jeanette Jackson were
married July 31, 1943, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma; over the years
their family has grown to include two children, Darrell McDonald
and Harriett Walraven, and several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The McDonalds lived in Seminole and Greenville
before moving to Midland; they were co-owners of the
Walker-McDonald Manufacturing Company, a supplier of drilling bits
and components; respected citizens of their community, they are
also valued members of the Baptist church; and
WHEREAS, In celebration of their enduring union, the
McDonalds were honored with a reception on August 2, 2003, hosted by
their son; and
WHEREAS, Partners for six decades, Mr. and Mrs. McDonald are
deeply cherished by their family and friends, and they are indeed
deserving of tribute for all they have accomplished in their life
together; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate R. E. and
Jeanette McDonald on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McDonald as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
