R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Dr. Blanca "Rosie" Garcia of Corpus Christi has been 
appointed to the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners, a notable 
achievement that is truly well deserved; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Garcia is a nursing graduate of the University 
of the Incarnate Word and an alumna of Texas A&M University, from 
which she received a doctorate; she has chaired the department of 
nursing education at Del Mar College, served as an adjunct clinical 
faculty member at Blinn College, and served as a faculty member at 
The University of Texas--Pan American; earlier in her career, she 
was a nurse at Driscoll Children's Hospital and with the Texas 
Department of Health; and
	WHEREAS, A graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi, Dr. Garcia 
has also recently been appointed interim vice president of learning 
and academic affairs at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi; and
	WHEREAS, The appointment of Dr. Rosie Garcia to the Texas  
Board of Nurse Examiners is a tribute to her considerable 
contributions to the nursing profession, and it is a pleasure to 
join in honoring her at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Blanca 
"Rosie" Garcia on her appointment to the Texas Board of Nurse 
Examiners and extend to her sincere best wishes for success and 
fulfillment in the years to come; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Dr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
