H.R. No. 51
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Bill M. Tucker, P.E., of
Kerrville, on August 31, 2003, brings to a close a distinguished
career with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT); and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tucker graduated from The University of Texas at
Austin in 1970 with a civil engineering degree, and he began his
employment with the Texas Highway Department on January 11, 1971,
working in the traffic engineering section of D18, the maintenance
division in Austin; and
WHEREAS, In May of 1979, he transferred to District 15 in the
San Antonio office of TxDOT to become an assistant to the district
traffic engineer; transferring to the South Bexar Residency in
1981, Mr. Tucker served under resident engineers Richard Lockhart,
Milton Dietert, and Freddie Hilgers before being named area
engineer for Kerrville three years later; and
WHEREAS, Throughout all his endeavors and professional
success, Mr. Tucker has enjoyed the love and support of his devoted
wife, Margarette, and his children, Casey and Taylor; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Tucker has served the State of Texas with
integrity and dedication for more than 30 years, earning the
lasting respect of all who have been privileged to work with him,
and it is a pleasure to recognize him for his exemplary tenure as he
embarks on this exciting new chapter in his life; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Bill M.
Tucker, P.E., on the momentous occasion of his retirement from the
Texas Department of Transportation and extend to him sincere best
wishes for future happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Tucker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
