R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, September 5, 2003, marked a milestone in the annals 
of the Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Dublin, as its 
congregation celebrated the joyous occasion of the church's 
centennial; and
	WHEREAS, The church was organized in 1903 when a group of 
faithful Erath County residents gathered together and adopted the 
12th chapter of Romans for a special covenant; first led by Elder A. 
A. Hensler, the congregation is currently shepherded by Brother 
David E. Locke, who has led the church since 1978; and
	WHEREAS, For 100 years, Highland Missionary Baptist Church 
has provided outstanding spiritual leadership and moral guidance, 
and the church remains a tribute to the dedication and hard work of 
its members, past and present, who have shared their time and energy 
to ensure its continued vitality; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor all those affiliated 
with Highland Missionary Baptist Church on the occasion of its 
100th anniversary and extend to them warmest wishes for continued 
success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
