H.R. No. 61
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 91st birthday is a special reason for celebration,
and on April 13, 2003, Lillie Adcock of Aubrey marked this happy
event in her life; and
WHEREAS, A native Texan, she was born Lillie Corene Habern on
April 13, 1912, at her parents' home in the Green Valley Community
in Denton County; and
WHEREAS, This lovely lady exchanged wedding vows with
Clarence Floyd Adcock on November 25, 1936, and the couple enjoyed a
close and rewarding relationship until his passing; today Mrs.
Adcock is blessed with the love and affection of a close-knit circle
of loved ones that includes two daughters, two sons, and two
grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, An Aubrey resident for the past 58 years, she
remains an active member of the community; she has given piano
lessons for the past two decades and still plays the piano for
Sunday services at Green Valley Community Church; moreover, this
independent woman continues to raise a garden each year and
delights in cooking for her family, particularly her trademark
cookies, pies, vegetables, and meatloaf; and
WHEREAS, For 91 years, Lillie Adcock has enriched the lives
of countless Texans with her warmth and wisdom, and she is cherished
by her family and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Lillie Corene
Habern Adcock on the joyous occasion of her 91st birthday and extend
to her best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Adcock as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
