R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, July 28, 2003, marked the 19th wedding anniversary of State Representative Carlos I. Uresti and his wife, Yolanda, and the members of this chamber are pleased to pay tribute to these two esteemed individuals and to recognize this occasion; and WHEREAS, Joined in marriage on July 28, 1984, the Urestis met in 1979 while attending McCollum High School in San Antonio's Harlandale Independent School District; these high school sweethearts have been blessed with two sons, Michael and Carlitos, and throughout their marriage they have demonstrated a commitment to family and education; and WHEREAS, A four-term member of the house, Representative Uresti is the chair of the House Committee on Human Services and serves on the House Committee on Elections and the Select Committee on State Health Care Expenditures; Mrs. Uresti is also a dedicated community leader, devoting time and energy to numerous worthwhile volunteer endeavors; and WHEREAS, Longtime San Antonio residents, the Urestis continue to make vital contributions to the growth and prosperity of the Alamo City; their enduring union is a source of great pride to all who know them, and their commitment to their family and the citizens of the Lone Star State is truly inspirational; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Honorable Carlos I. Uresti and Yolanda Uresti on the occasion of their 19th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness in their life together; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Urestis as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
