H.R. No. 84
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An "exemplary" rating, the highest classification
conferred on schools by the Texas Education Agency, has been
awarded to Bruni High School, Bruni Middle School, and Oilton
Elementary in the Webb Consolidated Independent School District
(CISD) for the 2002-2003 school year; and
WHEREAS, Webb CISD has established a reputation for academic
excellence, and each of these outstanding facilities features a
dedicated group of teachers and administrators who work to educate
and motivate the district's students; and
WHEREAS, Superintendent Dr. David Jones and principals
Stephen Young, Maria Ramirez, and Rodney Ramirez provide visionary
leadership to the faculty and staff; their efforts have helped to
enhance the educational experience for everyone associated with the
district; and
WHEREAS, Children are the Lone Star State's most precious
resource, and the commitment to excellence demonstrated by the many
individuals who contribute to the success of Webb CISD has helped to
ensure that future generations of Texans will have a strong
academic foundation on which to build; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate
superintendent Dr. David Jones and the faculty, staff, and students
of Oilton Elementary School, Bruni Middle School, and Bruni High
School on their schools' exemplary accountability rating for the
2002-2003 school year and commend them for their continuing efforts
in support of the students of Webb Consolidated Independent School
District; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for these schools as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
