                                                                  H.R. No. 86 



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, William and Dorothy Vaughn of Midland celebrated 
their 60th wedding anniversary on August 9, 2003, with a memorable 
reception at Manor Park Retirement Center; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Vaughn and the former Dorothy Parent were united 
in marriage on August 14, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan; their union 
has been blessed with four children, William J. Vaughn III, Pam 
Crutcher, James Vaughn, and Kevin Vaughn, and they have also 
welcomed eight beloved grandchildren into their family; and
	WHEREAS, Valued residents of Midland since 1952, Mr. Vaughn 
was employed by Texaco for more than 25 years before becoming an 
independent geologist, while Mrs. Vaughn is a devoted wife, mother, 
and grandmother who stays active with the West Texas Geological 
Society Auxiliary, St. Ann's Altar Society, and Ranchland Hills 
Country Club; and
	WHEREAS, For six decades the Vaughns have nurtured and 
sustained a special bond and their long and loving union is an 
inspiration to all who know them; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to William and 
Dorothy Vaughn on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
