R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Champion cyclist and Marine Military Academy cadet
Bryan Zurlo of Weslaco has demonstrated admirable determination and
skill in achieving his personal goals, and it is a pleasure to
recognize him at this time; and
WHEREAS, Ranked fifth in the state in his category for
cycling, Mr. Zurlo treks 30-40 miles a day and has recently competed
in a 102-mile competition; stamina and self-discipline are
trademarks of this young man's character, traits he attributes to
his tenure at the Marine Military Academy (MMA)in Harlingen; and
WHEREAS, After attending the Science Academy in Mercedes for
two years, Mr. Zurlo completed high school at the MMA, and he joined
his father and brother on the school's alumni list when he graduated
in May 2003; Mr. Zurlo is now attending Texas A&M University at
Galveston and plans to one day become a United States Marines Corps
officer; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished young Texan is a source of
tremendous pride to his family, friends, and community, and he
undoubtedly has a bright and rewarding future ahead of him; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Bryan Zurlo on
his graduation from the Marine Military Academy and his myriad
achievements in cycling and extend to him best wishes for continued
success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Zurlo as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
