R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In celebration of their golden wedding anniversary, 
Mackie and Billie Jo Scoggin of Midland enjoyed a trip to Ruidoso, 
New Mexico; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Scoggin and his bride, the former Billie Jo 
Jones, exchanged their wedding vows on August 21, 1953, at the First 
Christian Church in Kermit; through the years, their close and 
enduring union has served as an inspiration to their circle of loved 
ones, which includes two children, Timothy and Kristi Scoggin; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Scoggin has been a dedicated homemaker 
throughout her marriage, while Mr. Scoggin is retired from El Paso 
Natural Gas; and
	WHEREAS, The couple lived in Jal, New Mexico, as well as  
Midkiff and Andrews in the Lone Star State before moving to Midland 
in 1980; valued members of their community, they are congregants of 
Crestview Baptist Church; and
	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Scoggin have filled each 
other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, 
and it is a pleasure to join in honoring them at this time; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby heartily congratulate 
Mackie and Billie Jo Scoggin on the joyous occasion of their 50th 
wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Scoggin as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
