H.R. No. 121



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden wedding 
anniversary, Sam and Marlene McCalla of Canton were the honorees at 
a family-hosted reception on August 16, 2003, held at the Lancaster 
Community Center; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McCalla and the former Marlene Seale began their 
journey as husband and wife with the exchange of their wedding vows 
on August 14, 1953, in Lancaster; their enduring union gladdens the 
hearts of their wide circle of loved ones, including their children 
and grandchildren, Teri McGuire and her son, Jordan; David and 
Janet McCalla and their children, Jeremy and Clint; Gary McCalla 
and his son, Kyle; and Lori and Berry Bailey and their children, 
Brooke, Lauren, and Blair; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. McCalla has been a dedicated homemaker 
throughout her marriage, while Mr. McCalla is retired from 
co-owning Cabinet Door Company of Texas for 22 years; the couple 
moved to Canton in 1999, after having lived in Quanah and Lancaster; 
and
	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. McCalla have enjoyed many 
happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a pleasure to 
join in honoring this significant milestone in their marriage; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sam and 
Marlene McCalla on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 
anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McCalla as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
