R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Eraclio G. Espinoza, Jr.,
of Alpine were deeply saddened by the untimely passing of this
esteemed gentleman on July 7, 2003, at the age of 55; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 7, 1947, in Alpine, Mr. Espinoza
married the former Eloisa Guerrero on June 4, 1973, and their
enduring union was blessed by a daughter and three sons; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Espinoza served his country with great
distinction during the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Army, and
he earned numerous recognitions for his valor, including the Purple
Heart; an expert marksman with the M-60 machine gun, Mr. Espinoza
achieved the status of sharpshooter with M-14 and M-16 rifles; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Espinoza was a longstanding and valued member of
the Alpine community who worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30
years and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars; a member of the
Catholic Church, he was also a devoted family man who deeply loved
his wife, children, and grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan will be sorely missed by those
who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his memory will not
soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Eraclio G. Espinoza, Jr., and extend deepest sympathy to the
members of his family: to his beloved wife, Eloisa Espinoza; to his
mother, Esperanza Espinoza; to his daughter, Gina Mata; to his
sons, Michael Espinoza, Jesse Espinoza, and Eddy Acosta; to his
sisters, Sylvia Rodriguez, Carmen Rodriguez, Rebecca Acosta,
Marcela Molinar, Mary Conant, and Clemencia Reyes; to his brothers,
Jesus Espinoza and Raymon Espinoza; to his eight grandchildren; and
to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eraclio
G. Espinoza, Jr.
