R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Patricia A. "Patty"
Thompson of Georgetown were deeply saddened by the passing of this
esteemed lady on August 28, 2003, at the age of 58; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 19, 1945, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Mrs.
Thompson married Roy K. Thompson on September 7, 1963, in Elkhart,
Indiana, where she lived for a number of years before moving to
Georgetown in 1995; over the years, their special union was blessed
with two sons and four grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Thompson made numerous significant
contributions to her community by participating in the Georgetown
Area Republican Women's Club and the Texas Federation of Republican
Women; her extensive efforts were duly recognized with her
selection as the 2002 Williamson County Republican Volunteer of
the Year at the Reagan Day Dinner; and
WHEREAS, A valued member of the Georgetown community who
positively influenced the lives of those around her, Mrs. Thompson
will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Patricia Thompson and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her
family: to her husband, Roy K. Thompson; to her two sons and their
wives, Keith H. and Dina Thompson and Thomas A. and Janet Thompson;
to her four grandchildren; to her sister, Helen Conley-Swoape; and
to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patricia A.
Thompson.
