R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, United States Border Patrol agent Salvador Nieto has
been selected as assistant chief patrol agent of the El Paso sector,
and he is truly deserving of special recognition for this
noteworthy achievement; and
WHEREAS, A native of Roswell, New Mexico, Agent Nieto joined
the U.S. Border Patrol in 1988 after several years of distinguished
service in the United States Air Force, and he has steadily risen to
positions of ever-increasing importance and responsibility over
the course of his career; and
WHEREAS, In 1995, this esteemed gentleman was promoted from
his position as border patrol agent to supervisory border patrol
agent at the Fabens station, where he was instrumental in the
success of the current Citizens Academy Program; he has since
assisted other border patrol sectors in creating similar programs;
and
WHEREAS, Promoted in 2001 to special operations supervisor at
the El Paso station, Agent Nieto worked diligently and achieved his
current rank as assistant chief patrol agent in August of 2003; and
WHEREAS, Agent Nieto has demonstrated great determination
and a commitment to excellence in his chosen career, and his
long-standing tradition of superlative service as a member of the
U.S. Border Patrol is truly an inspiration to his peers; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Salvador
Nieto on his promotion to assistant chief patrol agent of the El
Paso sector and commend him for his dedication as a member of the
U.S. Border Patrol; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Agent Nieto as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
