R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives takes great 
pleasure in recognizing the members of the Horizon City Lions Club 
for their civic contributions; and
	WHEREAS, Part of the International Association of Lions 
Clubs, which includes approximately 46,000 clubs located in more 
than 190 countries, the Horizon City Lions Club truly exemplifies 
the motto "We Serve" and supports the community through many 
significant endeavors, such as providing eyeglasses for the needy, 
donating to area food baskets, and sponsoring the Horizon City 
Health Fair; and
	WHEREAS, The Horizon City Lions Club is currently under the 
leadership of president Morgan Knapp, first vice president Tobe 
Davis, second vice president Louise Condon, third vice president 
Ellison Beasley, secretary Don Chittenden, immediate past 
president Willie Dockum, who presently serves as second year 
director, lion tamer Brenda Rutherford, tail twister and 
director/life member Jim Brecheen, and first year directors Wally 
Thompson and Bill McCabe; and
	WHEREAS, The Horizon City Lions Club has long enriched the 
community it serves and continues to make Horizon City a better 
place to live, work, and raise a family through its valuable 
efforts; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend all those 
associated with the Horizon City Lions Club for their civic 
contributions and extend to them sincere best wishes for the 
future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the Horizon City Lions Club as an expression of high 
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
