R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of Mary Ruth Holland-Bolden from the Dallas Independent School District brings to a close an impressive 41-year career dedicated to educational excellence; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Bishop College, Texas Southern University, and East Texas State University, Mrs. Bolden began her distinguished tenure with DISD as a music teacher at Roger Q. Mills Elementary School and James Fannin Elementary School; and WHEREAS, This esteemed educator has devoted her considerable talents to various roles in the area of education; after several years of teaching, she was promoted to the position of assistant principal at Alex Sanger Elementary School and later served as principal of T. C. Hassell Elementary School and principal of Alex Sanger Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Upon retirement, Mrs. Bolden had worked for six years as the first principal of Pleasant Grove Elementary School, where she was beloved for the enthusiastic encouragement she provided to faculty and students; and WHEREAS, In honor of her commitment and professionalism, Mrs. Bolden has been recognized by the Texas Education Agency, the Dallas Independent School District, the Southeast Dallas Chamber of Commerce, and the Dallas Metropolitan Club; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Mary Bolden has set high standards to which all educators and administrators may aspire, and for her contributions to the field of education and to the lives of countless young people, she is indeed deserving of a rich and rewarding retirement; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Mary Ruth Holland-Bolden on her retirement and commend her for her many years of devotion to education; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mrs. Bolden as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
