R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On September 27, 2003, Pastor Allen G. Madison II
and the members of Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas
are celebrating the dedication of their new family life and
education center; and
WHEREAS, In 1985, Pastor Madison shared his vision of such a
facility with his congregation and through the years, land was
purchased, financing and community support were secured, and in
December 2002, the construction phase of the project began; and
WHEREAS, The center will house the Mission of H.O.P.E.
(Helping Other People Excel) organization, whose purpose is to
encourage and empower East Dallas residents to achieve the highest
quality of life possible; components of the Mission of H.O.P.E.
include a prison ministry, day care, school, and programs for
seniors and families; and
WHEREAS, For more than 100 years, Saint Mark Missionary
Baptist Church of Dallas has remained a haven of spiritual solace
and support, and it is a pleasure to join in celebrating the
dedication of its family life and education center; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Pastor Allen
G. Madison II and the congregation of Saint Mark Missionary Baptist
Church on the joyous occasion of the dedication of the church's
family life and education center and extend to all involved sincere
best wishes for a memorable and meaningful observance; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
