H.R. No. 162
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on September 2, 2003, Johnny Muriel and Bernice
Iona Dagley of Greenville marked this momentous milestone in their
lives; and
WHEREAS, The couple were joined in marriage on September 2,
1933, in a ceremony held in Campbell; through the years, their
enduring relationship has served as an inspiration to their wide
circle of loved ones, and has been the source of much happiness and
contentment for these two committed individuals; and
WHEREAS, The heart of their close-knit family, Mr. and Mrs.
Dagley have been richly blessed with five children; they also take
great pride in their seven grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, A dedicated homemaker throughout her marriage, Mrs.
Dagley was also employed with John's Shoes, while Mr. Dagley is
retired from a career in the lumber business that spanned 42 years;
respected members of their community, they are congregants of
Highland Terrace Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, Together, this devoted couple have nurtured a strong
bond of love and filled each other's lives with great joy, and it is
a privilege to join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Johnny Muriel
and Bernice Iona Dagley on the joyous occasion of their 70th wedding
anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dagley as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
